Lockheed Martin UK - Integrated Systems & Solutions is providing support to a number of customers in areas associated
with digitization programmes initiated by several NATO nations. The support
comprises the determination of high level information exchange requirements
for ground based systems and airborne platforms such as the TIGER
Helicopter, APACHE AH-64D, etc.
Lockheed Martin UK - Integrated Systems & Solutions is currently in the process of completing a study which translates operational concepts for Air-to-Ground Operations for Fighter/Bombers and Attack Helicopters to technical information exchange requirements. The study compares the capabilities of MIDS/JTIDS, Link 16 (including Link 16 Needlines), Variable Message Format (VMF), Improved Data Modem (IDM) (protocols such as AFAPD, TACFIRE, MTS).
The study will also address issues including Command and Control, connectivity, network planning and management. It will also assess interoperability requirements from a theatre/battlefield perspective.
Lockheed Martin UK - Integrated Systems & Solutions employees have a good knowledge of several digitization programmes such as the Dutch BMS/TICCS, APACHE, PATRIOT and HAWK, UK Concept for Digitization of Land Systems, US Task Force XXI, French MARTHA, German GEFUSYS/HEROS.
